The 5 Cheapest Interview AI Assistants Worth Trying in 2026

Pricing in this category is a mess. Headline numbers hide feature tiers, two of the most-recommended tools don't publish a price at all, and one charges more for a month than another charges for life.
So this list is ranked on one thing: what you'd actually pay, taken from each vendor's own pricing page.
We make one of these tools. Velin AI comes fourth. That's where the arithmetic puts it, and moving it up the list would make everything else here worth less.
How this is ranked
Cheapest first, by the lowest price at which you can use the tool for real interviews. Two rules:
A price only counts if the vendor publishes it. Which immediately disqualifies two popular products — more on those below.
The price has to include what you came for. If undetectability sits behind a higher tier, the higher tier is the price. Quoting a base plan that doesn't do the job is how these lists mislead people.
The ranking
1. InterviewMan — $12/month on the annual plan
$144/year, or $30/month. The annual plan works out at $12/month, which is the lowest real price in this category by a clear margin, and it isn't a stripped tier: unlimited minutes, unlimited session duration, all interview types, invisible in dock and Activity Monitor, and the widest named platform list of anyone here — Teams, Zoom, Meet, Amazon Chime, Webex, Lark/Feishu, HackerRank, CoderPad, Codility.
57,000+ users and 4.9★ from 257 reviews, which is a proportionate ratio.
The catch: you're committing for a year to get $12. Part of their stealth uses a two-device mode, so some of it depends on a second device. And they claim the product "has never been detected" — an absolute no vendor can support.
2. Cluely — $19.99/month, but read the tiers
$0 Starter, $19.99/mo Pro, $149.99/mo Pro + Undetectability.
At $19.99 you get unlimited AI responses, unlimited meeting notes, unrestricted uploads and 12+ language transcription. There's a genuinely free tier with no signup, and an iOS app — the only mobile option on this list.
The catch is the big one: being hidden from screen sharing is not in the $19.99 plan. It's a separate tier at $149.99/month. For meetings where nobody is checking, $19.99 is excellent value and second place is earned. For interviews where you need to not be seen, Cluely's real price is $149.99 and it belongs at the bottom of this list, not near the top.
3. Final Round AI — from $25/month
Free plan available, paid from $25/month. The widest feature set of anything here: AI mock interviews with scoring, an AI resume builder, post-interview reports, speech clarity analysis, 26+ languages, plus live assistance. Cross-industry rather than engineering-only.
For $25 that's a lot of software, and if you want to practise as well as perform it's the best value on this page.
The catch: tiers above the $25 entry weren't published on the page we checked, so what the full-featured plan costs isn't clear. Undetectability is described by outcome — "nothing the interviewer can see" — with no mention of dock, Activity Monitor or process naming.
4. Velin AI — $34/month, or $324 once
$34/month, $228/year, or $324 one-time for lifetime. Fourth on price. Three tools above it cost less per month, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
What the extra buys: undetectability included at every tier rather than upsold, hidden at the OS level — absent from dock, menu bar and Activity Monitor, running as the process V Module, click-through, never the active window. Plus mouse gesture control so there's no keystroke for a platform to log, invisible notes for behavioural rounds, 57+ languages, unlimited session length and unlimited usage on every plan.
The lifetime plan is the argument. $324 once is less than 27 months of InterviewMan's annual rate and less than three months of Cluely's undetectable tier. If you're job hunting for more than a year or expect to interview again, buying beats renting.
The catch: desktop only, no mobile, no mock interviews, and if you just need meeting notes it's more than you need to spend.
5. Interview Solver — $39/month
$39/month, with a 10-message free trial. No annual plan, no lifetime option. Focused entirely on LeetCode-style problems and system design: screengrabs, voice transcription of both sides, undetectable global hotkeys, multi-monitor support, companion mode with remote controls.
Most honest product on this page about its own limits, which counts for something.
The catch: that honesty includes stating invisibility works against Zoom 6.16 and below — a guarantee with a version number attached. Monthly-only at $39 also means twelve months costs $468, more than Velin's lifetime licence.
The two that won't tell you
Both of these get recommended constantly and neither publishes a price.
Parakeet AI lists monthly, yearly and weekly options — the prices render dynamically and didn't load when we checked. There's a credits model underneath (roughly half a credit per 30-minute session, credits never expire) and a free tier of 10 sessions at 10 minutes each.
LockedIn AI shows tier names — Unlimited, Credits, Lifetime, General, Professional — and no numbers. You find out what it costs partway through signing up.
Both may be excellent value. We can't tell you, and neither can their websites, so they can't be ranked on a page about price. Worth knowing that a Credits tier sitting next to an Unlimited tier usually means metered usage.
What you'd actually pay
| Rank | Tool | Cheapest real price | Undetectability included | Buy outright? | |---|---|---|---|---| | 1 | InterviewMan | $12/mo annual ($144/yr) | Yes, incl. two-device mode | No | | 2 | Cluely | $19.99/mo | No — $149.99/mo tier | No | | 3 | Final Round AI | $25/mo | Yes | No | | 4 | Velin AI | $34/mo | Yes, every plan | $324 lifetime | | 5 | Interview Solver | $39/mo | Zoom ≤6.16 only | No | | — | Parakeet AI | Not published | Claimed | Lifetime tier exists | | — | LockedIn AI | Not published | Claimed | Lifetime tier exists | | — | Interview Coder 2.0 | $299/mo | Yes | $799 |
Interview Coder is on this table for scale, not because it belongs on a cheapest list. At $299/month it's roughly 25× InterviewMan's annual rate.
Cheapest isn't the same as best value
Three ways this list misleads if you read only the first column:
If you need to be hidden, Cluely is not $19.99. It's $149.99, which moves it from second to last.
If you'll use it for more than a year, monthly pricing is the expensive option. Velin's $324 lifetime beats every subscription here on a two-year view, including InterviewMan's $144/year.
If you need mock interviews, Final Round at $25 does something none of the others do, which makes it better value than tools costing less.
Which to buy
Cheapest for one month of interviewing, and you don't need stealth: Cluely at $19.99.
Cheapest that covers real interviews properly: InterviewMan at $12/month annual.
Best value if you want to practise too: Final Round AI at $25.
Best value over more than a year, or if undetectability is the point: Velin AI's $324 lifetime.
Don't buy on price alone from the two that hide it. Find out the number first.
